Pack N’ Pounce (PNP) is a non profit animal shelter founded in 2008 by a husband and wife with a passion for saving animals. PNP takes in almost any animal in almost any condition and provides veterinary care for those who can not afford it. The company gives out vouchers for free or reduced spaying/neutering, and pays for veterinary care for abandoned animals. PNP is able to help more animals because they rely on foster care for the animals during the week instead of housing every animal themselves. The founders needed help improving and expanding their grassroots marketing initiatives.
Pack N’ Pounce is a relatively small organization with a small marketing budget and low brand recognition. In order to inform people of their services a grassroots campaign targeting the local animal enthusiasts and low income pet owners was developed. Attending and participating in local animal adoptions sponsored by national retailers allowed PNP to inform people of their services when they were needed most. Their mobile spaying/neutering van was re imagined so it would be more appealing when parked in parking lots, granting people access to animal services they would not normally be able to receive. A fund raising event at an Ogden venue with local bands was held to illicit donations.
At the fundraising event ten people signed up for the emailing list and nearly thirty people donated money. Plans for increased videos of adoptable animals using the newly crafted video intro are planned and will be combined with their new social media guidelines. Though not quantifiable due to budgetary restraints, the overall brand recognition increased due primarily to social media endeavors.
